PAS
I am about to install two systems, one in a house one in a workshop, but want to be able to connect them both to a single speech dialler like a SD1. If I power the dialler from one panel I assume I will need to also bring a positive or negative common from the other as well (along with the negative trigger). Both control panels are the same. Belfastengineer
You will need a relay being trigged from the remote panel then link the neg from host panel into n/o on relay to fire differnt channel on the SD1 so you can define which panel has activated. fozzies
I would have thought you could just link the two panels0v together? Cant think of any reason not to? ( unless youve got rfi on one panel) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/32251-connecting-two-panels-to-a-speach-dialer/#findComment-278809 Share on other sites
magpye
Don't use an SD1, it does not have an NVM, losing power = reprogramme, use an SD2 or similar. Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care. breff
Just link the Ov together, the sd1 doesnt have a NVM but the sd1+ does The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/32251-connecting-two-panels-to-a-speach-dialer/#findComment-278814 Share on other sites

sixwheeledbeast
Yes linking the 0V together should be fine. You should use a different input on the dialler for each panel tho. PAS
Could'nt get it to work with joining the 0v lines but we did have a suspicion of mixed up wires as the runs back to the dialler was with Cat 5 using one pair and cameras on the other, we ended up having three panels plus a fire alarm panel into the one dialler so for simplicity and it being 8pm we went with two "handy little relay" boards on the remote systems an the normal neg trigger on the one beside the speech dialer, all worked ok. Thanks for help and suggestions Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/32251-connecting-two-panels-to-a-speach-dialer/#findComment-279355 Share on other sites
