How Not To Break In To A Pyrotechnics Factory

Smoke Screen

Recommended Posts

This happened around 10 years ago at a pyrotechnics manufacturing site we used to deal with. We used to buy red dye smokes off them for CiT applications back in the day when that was what was done.

Anyway, one night some bright sparks decided to try and break into the Work in Progress (WiP) shed using a gas axe to get through the steel doors. On the other side of the steel doors was a significant quantity of unfinished pyrotechnic product.

These photos are part of a series of 16 of the resulting devastation. My personal favourite is the "getaway vehicle" or what was left of it.

It is assumed that the intruders heard the fireworks starting to go off and prudently ran. Certainly, there were no parts of idiots identified afterwards.

Very thick concrete walls. The roof is designed to blow off to expend as much energy as possible in an upwards direction. This site is an old world war 2 gun manufacturing site.
