I've got 2 properties next to each other, running a wire from one to another and am in the process of building a line simulator unit for test/diagnostic purposes. i.e. it will function as a phone system but with only 2 phones/modems etc.

Just to add this isnt the overhead dropwire10 with strengthening strands im looking for, its the external stuff they use from the junction box on the wall into the house. internal cable isn't quite good enough for the task.

You know this cable should only be about 2mtrs from where it enters the building due to fire risk?

I think thats the stuff that's terminated in junction box outside? then connects to the stuff I need which then goes to the NTE5

There are loads of comms suppliers out there, but many will not simply sell to an individual.

There is a company called FS Cables which sells specialist cables by the meter. We have used them several times in the past for duct grade comms cables, both petroleum filled, and not.

Maybe google them.

Thanks for the replies, I think the stuff im looking for is CW1128 or 1308b, which is petrolium jelly filled, so the fits with what Baracus said about the 2m thing, i'ts going to terminate in the attic less than 2m in then down to CAT5e/6 cable.
