Remote Shutter Access

Featured Replies

I need to open 2 x roller shutters remotely, preferably with the one fob. The shutters are approx 50m from each other and require entry through the first then through the 2nd when the first is shut. I do not require any 'interlocking'. They are currently on manual keyswitches but due to time and weather reasons the drivers are leaving them open!! Any suggestion appreciated. Thanks.

if not bothered about interlocking what about using 2 of those gprs based voice dialers which (work off the mobile network), then the drivers phone it the unit recognisses the incoming number and dry contact operates the shutter via a heavier relay if needed.

only 'valid' numbers will work and the call is free as it's not actually answered. users simply put it on a phone speed dial

initial cost is a bit higher but then no fobs to buy or loose or battery's to replace, you or the owner just send it a taxt message to change/add users.

only downer is if they 'pocket dial' that number then the shutter/s could open unexpectedly or when not wanted to.

If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

control panel with an rf fob and program the buttons to open each shutter. or just use a standalone reciever and a fob.

or go for access control on it, either rf or IR based. If its for drivers you could use vehicle tags to auto the doors etc and close after 30 seconds, but put some safety beams if autoclosing

You don't mention cost.....

The first door could be keypad/fob/remote fob, whatever fits your budget. Same on the second one, if it was an internal one with no security problems you can use a loop in the floor, truck drives up to door, door opens...

If you want one to only open when the other is shut that is interlocking......done simply with a relay.

What do you define as 'interlocking'?

Anyway, easy solution, ACT1000 controller, a couple of their prastel receivers and using their 2 channel transmitters, job sorted. (assuming you don't want interlocking).
