April 13, 200422 yr comment_10763 I am trying to source some door contacts which work the opposite to standard ones being tht the reed is normally closed but goes open when magnet is applied. It is for some door monitoring on a nurse call system Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/1940-door-contacts/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 April 13, 200422 yr comment_10779 Im sure we used to get surface reed switches which go cc when the magnet is removed from RS Components when I used to fit alarms to vans. We used to use them on the back roller shutter. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! April 13, 200422 yr comment_10795 Supplier was gardiner securityYeah that`s where I`m told our`s were from too. Were they the big old reeds of days gone by or have they been modernised? You can still get them, but not many customers want them, they all think smaller is better. ........................................................ April 13, 200422 yr comment_10796 The ones we ordered weeks ago were identical in size/shape as the usual ones, so had to hide them from the managing director so they didn't get mixed up..... April 13, 200422 yr comment_10799 I can still hear the "plink" as the reed is pulled over. Everything has to be smaller these days, except for my beer gut thankfully!
