Hi

I thought I'd ask this out of curiosity, I hope this the right section.

Basically what do all you pro's have installed and why?

Mine so far is the below as a DIYer...

4 Reflex Quads (3 downstairs) 1 up top landing

1 reed f/d (E/E)

and small window in porch next to front door protected by an Impaq

Advantage Zx6 (which will be replaced once I've completed my tests with a few I've bought and rigged up to test)

all devices on 1 zone each (exception Lr/kitchen) with 8 core wire, dropped through flooring into cielings below to make nice tidy (no wires anywhere scenario)

SAB Ventcroft (classic) front of house, SCB ventcroft (classic) back

1 SB1 sound bomber above porch alarm (I know its recommended panel should be hid and RKP used but door is well protected, 5 lever, rack bolts etc) plus with area and locale noboby could force door without being seen, plus very very very rarely premises is unoccupied.

So at night its part set with top landing disabled and bottom of stairs PIR set as W/T (dinning room)allowing access to panel in the morning or if kidz walk down (it beeps they know how to turn it off)

L/R - instant

Kitchen - Instant

Full house, everything...

Just curious thats all - I guess its better than saying what do you recommend, as if its in your home!! well I think you get my point.

Regards

Jeff

I appreciate that Paul and did consider this, but thought (possibly foolishly I don't know) if some body whacked the door in "that would take some doing" or smashed the small window and tried to climb in the bomb would deter them as you said its a samll area, plus with it going off it would wake us instantly, well faster really the SAB is right outside our bedroom.

But point well taken, what would you do - pull it?

Regards

Jeff

I've always done that too, in 10 years I'd say I've only fitted about roughly 40 alarms, but for friends or family and where they can't afford it themselves. Last one was down south for an old dear I know (rough area) old school I'd call her (very very nice old woman), but not much money, so when I was there I stuck in an - don't slate me for this, an Optima - well it was free, and all I could get hold of at the time.

But yes I do agree, I wear ear protection when using my SDS etc., always, so point well taken, I think I'll pull the SB1 and either remove it or if you can recommend a lower DB mobel replace it with that.

anyway, what do you have installed if you don't mind me asking?

Regards

Jeff

Premier 24, bosch 820 DT, visonic pet, reflex upstairs, odyssey 3 front and back.

Adi

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

This is what I was leaning towards myself, the premier from texecom (basically the 24) for my own home to upgrade - well all the sensors I have are theirs anyway (and so far after years of using them and installing for friends etc, no f/as or problems). So its good to know the pro's use'm to (the panels).

Thanks guys - keep'm coming.

Hi ,

When you finally upgrade your panel , I would swap the bells also , IIRC the Ventcroft classic was made from ABS and the few that I have put up have not aged well.

Purely cosmetic reasons tho.

:)

A nice shiney Odyssey for me.

Regards.

Mines a "paranoia" system, also like my gadgets...
