Check all inputs incase the device you are learning has already been learnt to another input.
Do you gave the Ricochet monitor software installed and connected?
-
Are you 100% sure you have not already learnt a device to that spot? I have been caught like this before.
Worth trying to delete the input you are trying to learn and try again.

Ive heard if you leave the PCB in the freezer overnight it defaults to 1234
You need to fill the panel full of water first, once frozen ensure cold start procedure is followed ;-)

Nope, most burglaries are drug fuelled and opportunist. The typical burglar would not have the knowledge nor inclination to defeat even a 1980s one zone, keyswitch system
Hence my usual line that CCTV is no defence at all. Police are unlikely to be interested, criminals are often of the attitude that they don't care about getting caught, a couple of hours in the nick at worst
and it just gets added to the long list they are already on probation for.
CCTV will only confirm that the window is smashed and the TV is missing. You will find this out from coming home and seeing it with your own eyes. An alarm will alert you to the fact at the exact moment (if installed correctly)
and may add to the mix of uncertainty for the criminal with sirens going etc... A decent looking (i.e. not plain white from Newlec) bellbox is 100% more a deterrent than CCTV IMHO.
Agreed..

Would say the Texecom kit would be slightly more expensive, although in my opinion the Texecom APP is lacking.
As you rightly point out, it's all about the law of adverages... as James points out this industry is does suffer from cost being the overriding factor where the home owners phone is worth more than they are prepaired to spend on an alarm system to protect all of their worldly possessions.

what do you drive and what phone do you have?
Watch out....your PIN number and account details will be next ;-)
no, valid point about to be made here....

90% sure you can program the fobs for 3 sets, (full, part 1, part 2) would need to check the book though.
-
Or if you are going to use the app and remotes, just locate the panel elsewhere. OR you can hardware a keypad into the panel....if you can find a sensible route for the cable, ideal.
The wireless arming station is a bit pants to look at IMO

...guess he would have captured it all on his cameras.... ;-)

Pyronix for me, just remember that the Pyronix APP is chargeable PA.

My first choice would be this quad detector:

Easily available online for around a tenner each. Great value imo.
If you are thinking about updating the panel it depends on what options you require. If like most you would like to control your intruder system by using an App then the Pyronix Enforcer HomeControl+ would be ideal. This may be a little expensive though and you would also need a expander for your detectors. Certainly worth considering though imo.

As for a straight swap for you Abacus the the Pyronix Euro Mini would take some beating. Again easily available online for approx £65 which is outstanding value.
Btw i am not a Pyronix Rep but have been installing their equipment for 15 years and highly recommend it.
Second the Pyronix Quad.
Pryronix Euro 46 is now APP compatible.

I don't know this panel but on most a intruder output will not operate on bell test. The best way to check it would be to set the system and activate it and check what happens.
Galaxy wont trigger intruder outputs on bell test.

what setting were you using to read the 2k2 resistor?
-
Although there is nothing wrong with your meter
-
-
And how much did you pay for the meter?
-
So with the meter set to 200 ohms you get 0 with the leads shorted together, what about without the lead touching, what does it display....
-
So turning it back to 200 ohms, touch the lead together what value do you get?
-
What multimeter do you use?
