I thought I'd been had the other day, but it's now 14 days so phew. Tiny stretch of 30 between two parallel 40's just outside Bath.

I had, in fact, just nearly overrun a Stop junction - which is something I would never have thought I was capable of, especially as I then recognised it from TV

as a notorious accident blackspot! As a result of that, I either didn't notice the main 30 signs, or they might not even have been there having been knocked over by the last crash!

Anyway I was doing about 38 just as I noticed the repeater sign with the camera symbol - and yes, you've guessed it that was the day the guy was out with the camera, no-one behind so

put the brakes on sharpish, I was driving towards the camera, I have heard conflicting stories as to whether some of the newer units work both ways or not. Anyway, 14 days and nothing.

Did I ever tell you I am eligible for exam-free membership of the IAD on the basis of my emergency driving certificate!?

I had similar 3 weeks ago, heading towards Cardiff on the 60, went down to 50 and I was still just under 60.

came round a bend and the unit was up on a bridge, must admit my actual speed would have been 54 55 so it would have been harsh but not impossible to get done.

used to be interested in motorsport,

nearest I got this yr is client referring to the rd outside there house as the "mulsanne straight" as he's unhappy with people speeding past

naturally the 500+ horsepower car in the garage has never been by anyone elses house at speed....

Reminds me of the old sketch done by Harry Enfield, with the two geezers down the pub talking about Nigel Mansell speeding

Ah good old Hengrove Park, where you would get mugged for popcorn at the local multiplex...

    Ha ha yes that’s right.

Last time I was there, police Descended on the park from all angles with a helicopter overhead as well.

turns out a kiddy about 6 years old ****** off out and was missing, they found him on the swings!

was a good show by the rozzers to be fair, but there was a few adults wondering which way to run....

  4. The 2015 finale was a royal stitch up!

marquez Pedrosa just parked the bus and let Lorenzo have it, really ****** me off as Marc always goes balls out for the win but on that day there was a different agenda.

felt sorry for Rossi, think he deserved it more. BTW I’m not and never have been a Rossi fan

Can someone help fix my 1993 Vauxhall Cavalier? I've never spent a penny on having it serviced but I'm sure it's worth spending money on getting working again.

No probs dude, at the local scrapyard they have a machine where the ceiling and walls all move towards each other, will sort that right out.

or if you want to do an insurance job then leave it at Hengrove Park for more than an hour

Yeah must admit Debenhams is the goto place for decent security equipment

    QFA lol.

as above best to replace it all dude, if I was going DIY I deffo wouldn’t buy Swann again.

in regards to Hik, even the pros that don’t like it know it’s half decent kit especially for DIY market.

i doubt you will find anyone on here that has dealt with Hiwatch, this is the new Downrated version of Hikvision kit designed to obliterate Swann and the like

Recently, we got an Oculi camera that have just been released.

This camera is fully functional off only a sim card and a battery - no other source required. Using a roaming sim and a data plan.

Currently being used to overlook a defibrillator in a local town, and so far doing well. We have altered this slightly to what we needed. Instead of a PIR activating and recording on a public path - activated through a contact onto the box from the inside. Using the app will take a short video of when the contact activates, notifying you and storing for you to look at. Heartbeat set up so far to only once a day giving a 3 second recording of view from inside the box. Going well.

Looking forward to finding out more and how much this camera can really do.

    What’s the projected battery life?

Hello mate good to hear from you, yeah it's going good thanks, hope the installing's going well!

Yeah Rosberg had that annoying entitled child aura about him didn't he but it made for exciting stuff with Hamilton.  Hamilton's massive engine failure (no, no!) was the nail in the coffin imo.  Didn't Rosberg steal all his engineers too? lol

Totally agree about the aero, they need to make it easier to overtake but the aero is big business apparently so it's not going to change any time soon, big shame.  I have to admit to taking some pleasure seeing Vettel throw his championship down the pan when he drove into Vestappen and Raikonnen :D

Yeah it seemed like a stitch up but most likely just bad luck, he’s had some better luck this season.

i was talking to someone about Singapore after qualifying and I said don’t worry Max is lined up so he’s not gonna give an inch. I didn’t think they would collide but I knew Max would make it difficult for Vettel. Was a glorious crash, just a shame they collected Alonso as well as it would have been interesting watching him flog that Honda.

Ricciardo is another class driver, so late on the brakes, Redbull team is going to get real scrappy next year

just got to wait 4 months now :-(

That sounds like it could work well and I just just found the web based setup for the Ciscos so will give it a bash-thanks!

Hi SWB, yeah the drilling's going good thanks, must be doing something right as they're dying to get in lol

TBH I think the easiest is going to be a rewire-it's all single storey with suspended ceilings so dead easy for pulling network cables and that way I get to sample the joy of IP.  For bandwidth presumably good quality CAT6 or 7 with a clean install and decent POE switch?

You still following F1? Rosberg finally got it (controversially) but it's all got a bit tedious now.

    Hey! How’s it going dude?

still torturing people for a living :-)

Rosberg is your typical German driver, dirty as you like and win at any cost, but he did the job and he was fast, but the record and history books speak for themselves.

it has got a bit boring now, they need to dial the aero back a bit to make following easier.

Ferrari could have won this year, but they buckled under the pressure.

or me I'm f1 plus he retired the season before

Still loitering around the paddock at the moment, getting involved in other drivers careers, namely Robert Cubica at present

I have an issue with a Guardall P48i ( PX48i ). It has all the elements ( detectors ) addressable and a couple of them just fail to operate. My problem is that the system can't be armed with open zones. i don't have any documentation about this system, neither engineer manual ( programing ) nor connection software. I have found something on net: user manual & installation manual but says nothing about how to program the system. Any kind of help is appreciated.

    All good,

    Lucian I

We don’t share out manuals to users who haven’t been “vetted” as trade professionals for obvious reasons.

it sounds like the system is in a bit of a state, in my personal opinion replacing it with a panel and kit that you are familiar with is the best option and you would be able to service/assist the customer properly for the future.
