    This is true,

Theres more chance getting jobs in domestic then a commercial when not approved was more my point I would think the owner of a big shop or warehouse is not likly to want an app? but S.W.A.T and k9 unit to be called. Is what i was getting at.:roflmao:

    That’s true.

i do get a lot of commercial that don’t want URN though just an ARC connection.

    some don’t think it’s necessary.

some don’t trust the police to turn up.

some like to use guarding firms.

the apps and Smart Digis is a good opportunity for the small companies though like you said.

  2. Install of apps ect is fuelled by demand.

nearly every domestic quote we do, we get asked if they can have an app.

we also do “proper comms” and outline the pros/cons and pricing of each form of comms.

but ultimately it’s whatever they want that goes in.

We’ll call it a day, didn’t come on here to be mocked.......

wanted some help to some serious quaestions......I will find out another way..

as I said the wiring is 30 years old, so a wireless system seems the way to go.......

maybe this can can be closed now, don’t think I will find out what I need.....

Your not being mocked Steve, the good wireless is very expensive and would cost more than the £400 you didn’t want to spend anyway, they are just as hard to set up and program.

i would always use the wiring if given the option, providing it’s all okay of course

Did they cover all the things I mentioned in my post? I said initially its not as simple as sticking wires in terminals.

Does the Blaster have Back EMF protection? Possible but if you don't check you could blow the panel or output.

I wouldn't use a bell terminal for this unless there was no other option due to my points above, however:-

Did they ask what was in the bell terminals already and calculate the current? Again could blow the panel or bell trig if not checked.

Did you adjust the bell time so not to burn the master out? Blasters have a duty cycle and will burn out if overrun.

Was it explained about noise pollution regulations and if the sound is deemed excessive the LA can force entry to the property to kill it?

    QFA

you're right on every point, bit slack if techs answer is banging on bell trig, with no mention of other issues.

the number of blown contacts/outputs I’ve come across in the past have been feeding mag/strike locks to a simple handy relay in a panel.

Hi all, I spoke to Texecom support earlier today, they were really helpful :) told me to wire the negative into the Bell terminal, and the positive into 12V +

they said the relay in the master blaster doesn't draw much and will be fine. Happy days :) and yup tested it...... ouch it's loud

I would fit back emf protection by way of a varistor or diode at the MB terminals if it were me, if not then there’s a strong chance of blowing your panel aux supply.

  6. I’ve never tried it mate to be honest, I doubt they would make it to the annnual service.

    the E/E a door cont?

if so they are “always awake” anyway or should be.

you may need to delete and then enroll and mesh  if that’s the case. Does it walk test out ok?

  7. Sorry, to clarify you are getting pop ups for Set/Unset  engineer Access.

but if you create an intruder Alarm event you get nothing?

after doing this and you unset/reset the system do you then get the unset message?

  8. As above ^^

its in “UDL options”, “program Digi” under “Reports”

you select and de-select the reporting types from there
