Deltaseven Posted September 29, 2004 Share Posted September 29, 2004 I need a new drill (owing to the smoke escaping from inside my old one... ), and don't know which to choose!! I am thinking either the new Dewalt XRP or the Bosch 18V. DeWalt is probably marginally better, but Bosch come with a 3 year warrantee. I mainly do service, so not too many holes right through the wall, but probably 4-5 bell box changes, a few passives, the odd panel or PSU - nothing too drastic. As long as they are serviced regularly, they should provide years of trouble free use. Can't disagree with that, very well built drills are the Makitas, their cordless SDS is also fantastic, has lasted far longer than my Dewalt. You'll know when this happens as suddenly your great hammer action turns into £13.99 cheapie from B&Q type hammer action I do mine once every 3 years as it dosn't get much hammer (pardon the pun) these days as i'm a service eng.
