Changing the batter on Aritech CS350

Featured Replies

hi all

I have got myself a new battery to fit to my Aritech CS350 alarm which has had a low battery indicator for a couple of months now.

I have been told, to fit this to take the panel off the box in the hot press. However the guide i have says to remove the power supply first before removing the cover which will set off the alarm and to reset the alarm before switching batteries.

The problem i have is that I cannot see the power supply, according to the manual it goes into the side? The only wires I can see is by using a torch to look behind it (there is a small hole there for wires) and the wires go into the back of the box.

My question is i guess, is removing the panel ok and then detaching the main power from the panel once the front cover is off? Is that the correct way to do it?

Thanks all for reading!

If your alarm system was installed properly there should be a unswitched fused spur close to the cpu, this is where you should down power the system.

If in doubt call someone out its not worth risking your life to save a few quid.

thanks...so obviously i need to take the cover off before i get to the fused spur..cheers

No. That is not correct. The fused spur is outside the control panel.

I would not advise you to remove the cover. If you insist, you should isolate from the mains BEFORE removing the cover.

If you don't know......ask.

is the text actually reading low battery or is the yellow trouble light on. if so might not be battery and could be fuse blown or maybe a bt fault if it used to be connected to phone line for monitoring.

Make sure the oil is hot, roll it in flour, then dip it in the batter mix. when it floats to the surface, it's done !

The batter has to be a special consistency - otherwise it just drips over the wall... :P

The text is saying low battery and the yellow light is on. I will get the father in law over at the weekend, he is an ex electrician and we can get the mains off and take it from there...thanks guys.
