so how long does it take to wire up an average panel that neatly? DO most others in the industry manage to do it that neatly?

Also do you do it like this on every single install, cos me thinks its going to take a really long time.

Any reason why cables come through telephone line hole?

& why mix double pole & eol?

is it take over/new controls job?

do you wire it nice & short to make it a right bar steward to change the controls in the future

can

What....no grommett on the incoming cables.. :hmm:

Hmm some one's read their copy of BS 4737: Section 4.1 : 1987 ?

Section 4.1.3. last paragraph

All cable entry holes in metal containers should be fitted with grommets to prevent cutting of the insulation of cable passing through the hole.

Although good practise, you do not need to grommet pre-fabricated holes.

That panel took me just over an hour to do, and yes i do it that way on EVERY install, time or no time

It doesn't matter which hole you use, i like all cables to come through a single point, i mix eol and double pole because i prefer using double pole on door contacts and pa's. It is a new job, and those cables are NOT short, if that panel had to be changed for virtually any other panel they would be long enough to reach to any terminal.

Its annoying if cables dont all come through the same point when you need to do a quick panel change especially if they are all twisted together in a common tamper. My Premiers are no where near as neat as yours, well done! I also do double pole on door contacts - makes them easier to check on routine maintenance.

Telephone line should enter panel through it own hole hence having a BT cable entry in the top right hole (page 7 of the manual.)

I could be wrong but I believe it is a requirement for the BABT approval?
