hi there, today i have aquired an abacus 6 panel (never used one before) am i correct in saying it can be used to prog chips? if so any idea how plse? and does anyone have a manual for this on pdf plse?

Try the manuals site, Mike. There are abacus manuals there.

I think the newer ones can program chips. not sure though.

If you don't know......ask.

yeah i mean the da systems ones, adv1.

If its an AB6P you could do with an engineers keypad just plug on the ADV 1 and go into the comms prog I use to carry a duff one its bell output had stopped but the rest of it worked okay it was great for blowing emergancy chips.....

the adv1 plugs on the molex pins, and you can program it using the standard led onboard rkp or it is better as gaz says using an lcd rkp.

just checked, and i got an abacus 6. mk -3 whatever that means? And i got 2 lcd keypads!!! I got the manual as well, all i need to know is, where exactly do i insert the chip i want programmed? is it the socket on the board next to the 2 little whie strips with 4 prongs on each? and two resistors inbetween?

is it the dac programming, which allows me to prog the chip? i have tried this, but the panel isn't seeing the chip. it says 'no response from dac' any ideas?
