Texecom Veritas Excel - Power problem

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I am trying to resolve a power fault on a Texecom Veritas Excel Alarm.

The Power Fault is flashing rapidly (at twice a second?) on control unit and RKP.
No Power Loss beeps.

Alarm fails to set with 10 x beeps. (Set System With a Power Fault option using ‘omit’ does arm alarm and works OK).

All fuses are intact (Internal and Fused Spur)

Battery reads 12.6v.
Have swapped for new battery but same result.
Disconnected battery same flashing status.
Pulled mains fuse and ran on battery same flashing status.

Mains Frequency in Miscellaneous Selections Three is set off = 50Hz

Walk Test OK
Sounders/ Strobe Test OK

Any help / suggestions appreciated
Thanks
Martin

Hi Sixwheeledbeast

Thanks for you reply.

Yes alarm has AC power and operates almost as it should with or without battery but obviously thinks there is a power issue.

I am puzzled as to what the rapid flashing denotes as normally if there is a power issue it is only 1 flash per second and associated warning beeps.

The installation manual makes no mention of rapid power indicator flashing.

Thanks

remove battery green ac light will stop flashing....

if so replace failed battery

Hi Guys

Thanks for your posts.

Turned out to be the internal 1.25a mains fuse. One of the end caps was loose although the fuse looked intact. Replaced and now up and running.

Cheers

Martin
