Veritas 8 Internal sounder only sounds when Full alarm triggered

Featured Replies

Hi

Just moved in and have noticed that the internal sounder only sounds when Full alarm is set and triggered. As far as I am aware, it should also sound when alarm is part set and triggered, i.e. when we are asleep upstairs.

Is this a setting or a wiring issue?

Thanks

Apologies - I should have said that the sounder I refer to is on the wall in the hall, it is not the sounder inside the Veritas box.

It's default settings are to be internal only for part set.

The sounder you speak of is likely wired from the bell terminals so neither are being triggered on part set.

I think the correct name for the speaker is "extension speaker". It sounds on test setting, when box outside house does not, so think it is wired seperately.

Makes a change from someone asking why their sounder sounds when theres a power cut.

When you say it doesnt sound on part set, how are you testing it? If you are prt setting the alarm and then coming into the entry route it wont sound. If you set it then go into a room that is not on entry exit route then I would say it should sound. Obvs if you start the entry procedure it wont. get someone to wait in the lounge part set the alarm then get them to move
