Help - can't switch (challenger) alarm off after power failure!!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone - hope somebody can help...

An appliance (probably an oven) has "blown" and tripped my powerboard unit which is on the same section as my challenger alarm. The alarm went off at 6 this morning - really pleasing the neighbours - and the panel states = fault + no ac power. I'm presuming it thinks somebody has cut the power and is using the battery.

Is there anyway to disable the alarm quickly - while I sort out an electrician this morning? - I presume the alarm will keep gpoing off until the battery is exhausted?

Any help very much appreciated!

Michael

Without restoring power to the system and entering your code, there is no easy way to disable the alarm, they are intentionally designed this way.

as above are you hoping that entering 1966 will disable it. If so would this not be used by burglars?

you can't disable it like that as its not a diy bit of kit.
