Hi I recently replaced my alarm system with an Accenta Gen 4 metal box with two remote keypads, as a replacement for the old one which kept giving false alarms, however the old keypads used to only light up if any key is pressed or a sensor is activated when the unit is set, and then go out after about 10 seconds of inactivity.

The new ADE LED keypads I installed constantly remain on, so what I'd like to know is, is this a normal condition for the keypads to remain permanently on?

The numerical keypad itself, all the digits seem to remain in the ON condition, I would have thought they go out after a short period of inactivity

They are always on at full brightness. I thought it strange at first, but it doesn't really matter. I have an older style LCD Accenta keypad and they go out until you press a key.
