Honeywell Optima Compact Gen4 Burglar Intruder Alarm Control Panel

Evening

Double-checked my program 1 setup and it's as I described in my OP -

zone 1 = used\timed

zone 2 = used\inhibited

zones 3 to 8 - unused

I performed a factory reset and reprogrammed, just to start from scratch again.

efficient_systems - Looking at the Engineer's manual, the zone setup is the same for all 3 programs, the only thing that I have changed on program 1 is to set zones 3-8 as unused and left programs 2 and 3 unchanged, is this okay?

Is there any else that can cause the pir to activate the entry timer when the entry route has not been activated?

Could I have a duff panel......?

GF

So as the dodgy alarm blokes pointed out when you set the alarm, leave from front door what happens when you go back in through the door?

They not really dodgy lol

Hello

Sorry for the late reply, been unwell.

Anyway, if I re-enter through the door containing the door contact, the entry timer starts, enter code and alarm dis-armed (as expected).

jameswilson - honest it is program 1. I will let the pir pick me up, allow the entry timer to expire and then I will check the panel.

cheers

GF

Hi again,

Sorry for the late reply, I need to set up notifications for replies!

Before going any further, do a walk test to make sure these sensors are actually on separate zones, it sounds like they could be linked into the same zone.

If it is setup as you said then the next thing to try is disconnecting the sensors and using a wire to short/open the zones to test manually, this will eliminate any wiring faults and confirm a panel fault (very rare on these).

C :)
