October 10, 201411 yr comment_401995 Fitted a new Visonic Powermaxcomplete to my house. Going through setting it up and have the status message S01 Tamper Open Error, relating I assume to the outside wireless siren, so unable to arm the system. Troubleshooting on the alarm manual states, "most likely the back tamper. Down power the siren and remove it from the wall, then adjust the screw on the back to extend the tamper alarm" Only screw on the back is the one that goes through the centre hole of the backplate for fixing, but notice that there is a gold coloured foil under the pcb near to this hole. Does the fixing screw pull the foil away from under the pcb or does it have to touch the pcb? Other two tampers on the siren seem fine. Siren is a Visonic MCS-740 wireless Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/37521-visonic-powermaxcomplete-s01-tamper-open-error/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 October 10, 201411 yr comment_402000 The instructions you refer to are for the now discontinued MCS-710 which had an adjustable wall spring. On the MCS-740 only the break away screw hole and the lid spring are part of the tamper. October 11, 201411 yr comment_402010 So would you know what the S01 Tamper Open Error refers to on the MCS-740? On the MCS-740 only the break away screw hole and the lid spring are part of the tamper. Have you checked them? Maybe best to get the bell down in front of the panel and work out if it's working. October 12, 201411 yr Author comment_402073 All sorted now, set the system back to factory default.Re-enrolled everything including bell box. The system is now working fine, so could just have been a glitch.
