Depends on the stat Ours are far from perfect. We suffered on maintenance about 4 years back due to higher levels of instal and insufficient staff levels. The stats are a tool for measurement and guides for performance. We refuse to be inspected for CCTV and access and believe the NSI do not have the right to force these into our area of competancy. We never asked for this.

In any event the concept of inspectorate is sound and even with its faults the best is NSI. Anything besides does nothing more than dilute.
