Hi guys, recently moved into a new property with optima xm6 installed, i believe model number is - 8EP 395 Optima G3 panel

with built-in keypad

basically there is no response when pressing any buttons, is there some quick easy fix such as switching off the mains and removing battery?

you could try that, depends whats wrong with it. Before you do what lights are on the panel. It probably has a tamper or PA alarm still active on it which would cause it to appear un resposive.

Sounds like the tamper circuit needs to be restored, then it will wake up...

Just the power light on, I've been reading a lot about faulty battery needing replaced?

Yep it may well be the battery, take a look at the back of the PCB if its black and the resistor is scorched its time for a new control panel, a new battery every four years would of saved this from happening
