i have a gardtec 500 and my landlord cut the wire thinking it was an old phone cable i hve reconnected them but the alarm wont accept the code can anyone help with a reset or overide code to help here thanks

Landlord probably blew the internal fuse, get him to pay for an engineer to come out and sort it

the fuse haas been replaced but it wont take the code all its showing is a _ and nothing more

There is no magic code we can give you, we cannot tell you how to default it and reprogram here. Its unlikely thats what it needs anyway

A "-" (underscore) on a 500 indicates that it is set. If the user code is not unsetting it then you need to 1) crash the panel and reprog, or 2) use the engineer code to program the user code. If no one knows the eng code then see 1).

Its an old panel anyway and your landlord sounds like a plonker. I wouldn't trust or use the system.
