Honeywell Galaxy G2-20 A Few Simple Questions

it's in the comms menu, easy to do but the reliability of the SMS centres are questionable.

there is no questions, it will stop working !

i know it's in the comms menu, but what exactly do you have to do to get it to work?

like i said earlier, i was told at the time the function became available, only ARC's could utilise this.

what's different now?

The panel just makes a modem connection to the SMS centre and sends a text message using standard commands.

*however* as already said, the SMS message centres do change from time to time, and unless you have regular messages & regularly test that it's sending text's ok (i.e. drop it into engineer and out again and check you get texts) you might end up in a situation where you're not notified.

thanks Cyberprog,

so all you need is your service providers' sms centre then?

i guess the only real way to make sure it's working is to enable the autotest and obviously once it stops texting, then you then check the centre number.

again, good to know, as no-one i know has ever used it since it was brought out
