And forums like this are full of people that prefer one panel over the other, that because they are more familiar with one over the other

My advice would be to find out more about the installers there are good bad and terrible companies out there, some on here would say an approved company is no guarantee of a good installation or after service. Dont go for the cheapest running a good security installation company isnt cheap, so a much cheaper installation price usually means corners have been cut somewhere.
