September 17, 201015 yr comment_252157 Hi all... I am a sparky with a builder that would like an additional keypad adding to his Gardtec 591. The current kaypad is a Contour with ACE - I assume this is a keyfob system. He only has one code, and the system was under contract with an alarm company by the previous owner, so... 1. Is his code likely to allow the intergration of another keypad? 2. As he doesn't have any keyfobs (ACE) does he need another ACE compatible keypad - if not what pad would do? 3. Does the 591 allow factory resets? 4. Is a new system the better option? Many thanks, Simannjo - (and his builder) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/29780-gardtec-591-remote-keypad/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 September 18, 201015 yr comment_252243 1) No 2) Depends whether its a 4 or 6 wire keypad, older panels use 6 wire, Risco dont make the 6 wire keypad anymore, new panel maybe required 3) You can but if its locked your gonna need a new panel 4) Might be less hassle Hope this helps Hey Ho, Lets Go Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/29780-gardtec-591-remote-keypad/#findComment-252243 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 September 18, 201015 yr comment_252244 As above, the g591 is superseded with the g595 which supports 4 and 6 wire keypads, worth updating as you only need to enter codes at one keypad on the 4 wire versions and better software. Would not say G595 is a breeze to program - unless you know them. Arfur Edited September 18, 201015 yr by arfur mo If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!! September 18, 201015 yr comment_252302 Ak for a Gil engineers manual, the fast start sheet I's kack. New keypads use prox fobs do pick some up . Arfur Should mention the 490 is a cheaper and capable alternative having similar programming but lacks having 3 areas (rarely used anyway) and uses same rkps. Both have 'vo com' basic voice dialer built I'n as standard Arfur If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!! September 19, 201015 yr comment_252314 Think that has been said I'n here, they should do, as thousands of 6 wire only panels out there working fine, client damages it, not fair to enforce replace panel as well Arfur Edited September 19, 201015 yr by arfur mo If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!! September 19, 201015 yr Author comment_252317 If I am able to determine panel type and then get a new one... Am I likely to have issues integrating it as we may not have the engineers code?
