My apologies to OXO, he is actually a very experienced engineer and I shouldn't have inferred otherwise.

not sure what is going on and what apologies are for, do I ignore or does it affect my problem?

No it doesn't affect you, you have had some good advice between us all on this forum.

Let us know how you get on with it and post again if you need any more advice.

Thankyou Lawandorder and others for advice, much appreciated.

A final couple of questions. If I have blown the fuse, can I safely open other PIRs to move them for decorating as the alarm cannot go off?

When I come to replace the fuse, when I open the control panel, again the alarm will not go off? Will it go off as soon as I put the new fuse in, and will it silence straight away when I put code in.

One other bit of information that I have noticed is that the internal sounder is not working, it normally bleeps when we open and close front door. Is this consistent with the diagnosis?

Thanks for the responses so far, is anybody able to answer my final questions?

See previous post number 39.
