April 6, 200917 yr Author comment_232248 I would strongly suggest having a professional come and look at your system. They can reset it and help advise on usage and how the system works. Opening the control panel is not recommended to anyone who is not trained in working with mains electricity. 'J Should be OK if I turn the mains off I think. Will it be a normal battery, or something difficult to find a replacement for? The battery will be a sealed lead acid battery, like a small car battery. The site sponsor will supply one as will Screwfix or maplin. As other have said the box with a keyhole will alomost certainly be a panic button, the key is used to reset it after it's been pushed. Easy enough to remove the cover and do it manually though if you need to. April 8, 200917 yr Author comment_232486 Just a thought after reading some of the other posts on here. If I open the control panel to access the battery, am I liable to affect the tamper mechanism Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/27980-reset-required/page/2/#findComment-232486 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 April 9, 200917 yr Author comment_232641 She did try to get an engineer to call, which he promised to do. 2 weeks later after a couple of repeat phone calls she is still waiting. It is quite difficult with her in Cardiff and me in Birmingham. I suppose I will have to try to find an alternative engineer Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/27980-reset-required/page/2/#findComment-232641 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
