Gsm Module For Galaxy G3

G3 is basically designed for professional security solutions so 'add-on' GSM module wouldn't be a desired feature - you can get externally fitted GSM diallers that would work with outputs on the G3 e.g This one here ( God forbid! :) )

I don't recommend any particular unit.

I thought the G3 being a professinal panel would have a GSM add on, I see there is a G2 GSM add on, why would the G3 not want one?

Thanks

G3 would use a secure signalling option like Dualcom or Redcare GSM.

A G3 unit is designed for a PD6662 Grade 3 professional installation, a standard GSM unit would be considered as being for PD6662 Grade 2 use only, (or less - as in GSM diallers often used in the DIY market).

I guess maybe I've gone a bit OTT with a G3, its only my house alarm, it is going to be monitored, I just liked the idea of a GSM backup in case someone chopped the phone line, is this OTT for a normal house install? Should I just leave it with the phone connected?

It's not OTT to backup with GSM, but the G3 version is not designed with that in view - G2-44 is.

Oh, I should have checked this before installing it, maybe I should change it to a G2 then.....

G2-44 has a GSM add-on module, but beware it's expensive!

if your connecting it to proper monitoring then as roger says you want a dualcom or a redgsm. A gsm module is a diy type solution and the g3 is not designed as a diy panel

However a GSM module can be added .
