Hi everybody,

don't know if this is the place to ask (Sorry if it isn't) about rough quoted prices for alarm installations.

I have just purchased a premesis that did not have an alarm fitted, naturally I was interested in having one installed so requested quotes from a couple of national alarm companies, equipment specified was to be grade 3 as advised by my insurance company.

The national companies prices were quite high as expected so I thought I would try local to the property and found an alarm company in the local paper

quotation I got was for a Galaxy G3-48 panel and 12 honeywell dualtechs along with assoicated siren, keypad etc, all this came to a total of

Id say its very difficult to answer.

Depends on the TCO.

Some firms subsidise the install price to get the job, then charge a bit extra on the monitoring/maint to claw back etc.

If the ongoing costs are competitive then the price you quote looks ok to me.

I thought the Galaxy G3 had gone and had been superseded by the Dimension, perhaps it's old stock?

Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.
