Gooner08
A customer asked me the other day if the Alarm I was fitting was capable of sending text notifications as well as the ARC monitoring. I was fitting a Scantronic 65 which can't do that but I was wondering if theres a bit of kit, like a menvier SD1+, except capable of sending texts instead of speech. Any1 hav any ideas? NitroN
Just remember that unless it is a dedicated APN, the chances of an sms getting through timeously could be risky... How many times have you received an sms a few hours late? If an ARC is involved this may not be a major problem... It's only if one is not involved that it could be a problem! If the customer inccurs a loss, they will be going at you, even if you verbally told them the potential risks. If they insist on this, get it in writing! james.wilson
agreed. SMS sould only be used as additional infomamtion not for primary signalling. but a good combination with a digicom for fast signalling to arc then an sms detailing where securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. SD2 is great device and its very flexible. You could send different texts depending on what triggers it. You also have good old fashion System Q Ltd.
