Why would you want to use white glands??

my guess because he's using white fp200.

makes sense to ask IMO but because the mcp will be red i'd use red personally.

If he's using white cable I'd assume this is an addition to an old install as BS recommends the same colour cabling throughout and preferably red.

Absolutely, this tends to be the norm within the industry at present, can't see any reason for not doing it this way to avoid confusion.
