Hi all can a bt redcare gsm device be used to call any numbers you want from the onboard sim card even if its not connected to the red care network as a stand alone gsm diller device.

No, they don't dial a number as such.

Use a stand alone GSM dialler for such a job

Yep as chris says there is now way to make the gsm unit text directly

IMO expereice a good cost effective gsm dialler is the 'cqr gd06 gsm dialler'

great unit has 8 inputs or outputs and you can text it back to turn outputs on and off etc. Can be controlled via a web interface too.

What panel are you using? some panels allow you to program their onboard communicator to send texts eg Galaxy

Texecom do a com2400 which can send texts which just plugs on to the prem24

I think the cqr one if you must use one is more flexible.

Plus has a website you can see current status etc and switch the outputs etc.
