Thanks guys

Unlike someone I know the Hamster likes to be out at night and has her own ladders.

Ken..... :P

Hey that's defamation of character you SSSwine.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Guys,

Can I just quickly thank everyone for posting replies to my little rant on "Pet Immune" PIR detectors. It is good to see so many people with level headed opinions, and most of them in agreement with my point.

One quick addition I should make in relation to comments made. Animals do have a significantly higher body temperature that humans which some manufacturers use as the "method of differentiation". Again in theory . . fine.

But . . remember that a PIR reacts to the comparitive difference between ambient temperature, and that of the target . . especially if it is using complex signal processing. A hot-dog (no pun intended) could also just as easily be an intruder that is hot because they have just climbed over a high wall to get into your property.

I love the marketing hype . . don't you ?

LOL !!

Anyway, thanks again for the comments. The more I visit this site the more I see its HUGE benefits to the industry, and installers.

Regards,

Gimmick.

If you coat the " hot dog " in mustard does that make it more susceptable to being detected or is ketchup a safer option.:lol::lol:
