January 2, 200818 yr comment_187353 Hi I have an 800 series thats about 11 years old and worked pretty well. About 12 months ago there were a number of false alarms which I traced to the sensor at the top of the stairs. it just flicks on constantly but I lived with it by disabling the zone when setting the alarm. Last night for no known reason the alarm went off and the panel just shows 07. Every time I try to set it, it's triggered almost immediately and 07 shows on the panel. There are no instructions with the unit but I beleive I have been using a master code to set it (according to the previous owner). Can anyone tell me if the unit is indicating a fault with zone 7 and how can I find out what zone seven is? Or, do i need to get a professional in? Sods law that there have been 2 burglaries on my estate in the last 2 months also ( many thanks Mark Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/21782-gardtec-800-on-its-last-legs/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 (May be a cable fault or a detector fault) This may be a bit beyond a DIY job unless you know what you are doing, I recomend calling a local company, there is a list on this site of firms in your area. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Life is like a box of chocolates, some bugger always gets the nice ones! January 2, 200818 yr comment_187364 if it sounds as soon as you start to set, and being on Zone 7, i'd bet a panic button needs reseting as many installer use the last zones for panic button, zone 7 would likely be ground floor Panic and Zone 8 as 1st floor Panic. if it has not been serviced especially if not in the last 24 months, then get it done by a competent Gardtec firm/engineer, just think like this - what the working system can save you in pain and greif against the begrudge cost of a maintenance call, surely there can be no argument? regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!! January 8, 200818 yr comment_187820 Also, be aware that the engineer may have locked the panel in response to triggering a tamper. This means the panel will be useless unless you know the engineers code. I speak from bitter experience! I had been assured by one homeowner that their 816 panel was not engineer-locked. On removing the panel cover, I effectively rendered the panel "scrap". (The original installation company had ceased trading) Ah well, we live and learn!
