GSloane80
Hi all, Hope someone can help me please... I recently moved house and our new place has a Scantronic 9651 security system. I paid an alarm company over Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/21537-installer-code-scantronic-9651/ Share on other sites
breff
The code is purely for engineering functions and WILL NOT unset the system if armed. Every installer has a unique code, you will have to bite the bullet and get them to come out or try to find someone cheaper. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/21537-installer-code-scantronic-9651/#findComment-185400 Share on other sites

GSloane80
Why do I need to read 'site rules'? I'm not asking for the code - just asking what my rights are. I've managed to find the Install Guide- so I'm going to go through the 'Level 1 Reset' procedure - which will apparently reset all codes... amateurandy
Why do I need to read 'site rules'? I'm not asking for the code - just asking what my rights are. Firstly, everyone should read the rules anyway....................... As for your rights, there have been many discussions on here about engineers codes, locking panels etc. Have a search round and read them if you're interested. A key issue would probably be - Is your panel under a maintenance contract with that company or not? Guest anguscanplay
it`s the regs thats all - magpye will post the actual text soon but it says that tamper activations HAVE to be engineer reset if your happy having a non compliant / not to relevant standard system then thats choice at the end of the day Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/21537-installer-code-scantronic-9651/#findComment-185623 Share on other sites
GSloane80
Hmmmm... decisions decisions... I know what you mean about it possibly not being compliant, etc. Thing is - I know that all the zones, etc are set up correctly (that's what I paid Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/21537-installer-code-scantronic-9651/#findComment-185624 Share on other sites
Guest anguscanplay
split the difference and pay another firm to take it over? maybe, just maybe we might do the first reset for free, what with you been a new customer etc etc, I think most other firms in your area would take a similar view - I assume this is a large national installer system Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/21537-installer-code-scantronic-9651/#findComment-185643 Share on other sites

It can be reset by the gnomes from the end of the garden if they like! The problem is that WE can only go so far with the advise we can give on this site. Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.
