Plug a phone in (via an adapter?) and listen? You may need to time taking it off the hook carefully as the com2400 presumably checks for dial tone before dialling.

audio verification board?

modem level is db adjust

if device is not where intended chances are ports set up wrong

New panels and new com2400s dont use com1 anymore and dont need the fly lead, they now use com3.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

I have set a computer up on another line using PageGate software with GetTap and set the SMSC number on the panel to that line so i can see the text messages it is sending without costing 20p a go but it doesnt seem to be working it just hangs on sending text, I successfully sent a message using ActiveXperts SMS and Pager Toolkit SMSC DIalup Demo App so PageGate is working ok, Is there any other software i could try that anyone knows of?
