Guest lucylastic
i have recently been working in chinese household where it is polite to remove one's shoes , do you think my insurers would pay out if i dropped a 7 Ah battery on my foot ,should i insist i wear my safety shoes , or bow to tradition ? norman
Hi Lucylastic, Your insurers would probably try anything to get out of paying As a compromise explain your predicament to the householders and put on a pair of 'over-shoes' not ideal but I always have a couple of pairs in the car. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool. morph
Safety first! We use the same plastic boots petes on about, or in emergencies a couple of shopping bags(minus the shopping ). Best to keep your shoes on, they would be far more offended if you left a toe or blood on there carpet. Colin. Wooly-bobs
I had the same problem on friday! Was a muslim houshold, the wife was dead quiet and wouldn't speak to us, that sort of thing. Anyway, we compromised by taking a separate pair of shoes for inside and wore another pair for working outside up the ladder. Plus, there were sheets everywhere, and I mean everywhere. Steve K
It's really interesting to hear about you guys and dealing with the ethnic minorities and their beliefs etc. I would have never considered carrying overshoes for the purpose of religious requirements. We are still out on a limb down here - we still don't get too many ethnic minorities. Like everyone else we have had a large in flux of Iraqies. My son (9yrs) is amazed at the beliefs and lifestyles of certain religions. FASTCAR
I visited China recently , and on entering a factory was given a nice pair of slippers to wear... no HSE over there. The bike ride to work is by far the most dangerous thing they encounter , you gotta see it to believe it.
