April 29, 200620 yr comment_97167 Hello, I have a old (5-10 year) control panel that i removed and replaced with a new alarm system during a electrical installation. This control panel i wish to reuse for my own use. It has no manual, and getting the manual wouldnt be a problem if i knew the manf. of it. I do know that its a commerical/industrial system that was well used in the past by big security companies so ill describe it Portrait format, proportional to A4 paper but larger with the touch keypad in the top right corner. The keys being square and dark brown with a lighter brown triangle in them. There is no manafacture on the PCB or inside it, just programing codes. Behind the keypad a speaker and the battery in the bottom of the box, which is made of metal. The old code i have no idea of and i have tried to reset it but as it look more tamper proof than the domestic ones i havent been able to. If i knew what the alarm was then i would be able to reuse it. It seems a shame to throw it away when i could reuse it. I would appreciate any input. April 29, 200620 yr comment_97172 Its a Scantronic 9100 panel but it is very dated and now obsolete - as a user you can't even change the user code, it even requires an engineer to visit to make the change! We can't give out installation information on this site but a local engineer (post your location) might be able to help. Personally I would advise getting a new panel with features applicable to modern standards. for that. So, without a engineer code then you cant reprogram any of the panel at all? I have tried all the resets that i know of but to no advail, altho it has kept me busy during bored moments. I dont really want to buy a new panel as my use for it is not crucial but if i can reuse this one then i will be happy. I am in Co. Durham. thanks for your reply, Mike for that. April 29, 200620 yr comment_97175 That's correct - if you have user codes you can set/unset/part set but that's about it.You and a few engineers over the years Lol, well i am a elec. engineer so have worked on control systems which have been used as inputs to alarm control panels, this being one of them and have had more problems with alarm control panels than my own wiring, such is life! April 29, 200620 yr comment_97179 9100 is bullet proof, I still regularly maintain quite a few of them. Yes it's very old and dosn't comply to modern standards but it's one of the "Classics" in my humble opinion. BTW, Your right Roger, they've kept me busy over the years B) Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
