Hope this helps....
panel. bell
+12v hold off +
0v. hold off -
bell. TRIG
Strb. STB
Tamp. RTN
Both boxes can stay as they are, because AG6s sound off their own batteries, No SCB mode required.

Hi,
I have a very old Optima 2 Plus alarm system which for my sins i have decided to get working again after many years of inactivity.
The system was installed in 1995 I believe - we moved in some years after.
Anyway have now got most of tye system working again having made sure all PIR's are working and access / exit points are all fine.
However the external bell box / strobe is not working - it's as old as the alarm itself.
so the question is can i source a like for like replacement / repair tye existing unit (not that i know how to)
Best Regards
Mike

Bear in mind it's pos tamper return
eurobell doesn't have an SAB, don't know why, just connected the tamper switch to a chocker block and then back to the panel

Most decent hybrid panels will do this. Everyone has there own preferences.
yeah, i'll get a euro46 with a wireless expander.

Hello,
i need some recommendations for a hybrid alarm system, everything will be wireless except the bell box which will be wired.
i'm thinking about the euro 46

i have the same issue with a logic 4, entry time never ends.

i know that they havn't been made for a little while, i collect bell boxes from the 80s/90s and i try and make them complete by putting strobes etc. on

Why ? Just bin it and by a new bell. surely its cheaper than spending hours fking around with an old bit of tat thats older than the contents of the property your protecting
well, it's not going to be protecting anything, i collect old bell boxes and this is going inside a vented bell box.

i have traced it a bit. things like tamper and trigger are a bit harder to find

i had a chat with the owners yesterday, he said there are even pressure mats at the bottom of each window! apparently the system was installed in 1990, the company that originally fitted it is now long gone.
it hasnt been used for about 10 years, they stopped using it because it always falsed etc.
all the doors in the house have recessed contacts, quite a lot of the doors have been swapped etc. and contacts havnt been put back again.
quite a few wires stick out in various places so occasionally it goes off when hoovering etc.
it hasn't had any maintenance since the day it was fitted 30 years ago.
trying to find the tamper fault would be like chasing a rat in 100 acre field, there are so many reasons why this system should be shut down!
there are 2 live external sounders, hopefully the backup batteries have died.

it is quite old i know the people who have this installed, hasnt been used for about 10 years. hopefully they might allow me to de-commission the system and remove the panel as i am quite fond of it!
