  1. All sorted, I managed to contact Honeywell technical and they supplied me with the correct download page. I'm flashing the panel via RS-232, but I guess the SPI key is an alternative? I guess it makes it simpler if you don't want to have to plug in a laptop onsite.
  2. Hello, I've got a Honeywell dimension 48 panel and I would like to upgrade the firmware for it. Previously I've just been able to download whatever I've needed from the FTP links on: https://www.security.honeywell.com/uk/resources/technical-support/software-upgrades/galaxy-software-download-centre But now it seems to time out as if it needs a username/password. Does anyone know if the FTP site is still working, or do I now need credentials to connect? Thanks
  3. Ending up using the 12v cable as suggested and all is fine, nothing has gone pop! Thanks, Saaj
  4. Evening all, I'm installing a Euro 46 V10 panel for a friend, along with the DIGI-LAN communicator for app capability. I've fitted a few of these Pyronix (and previously Castle) panels before, but I'm a bit stumped with the conflicting instructions that came with communicator and the panel. Below is the an excerpt from the DIGI-LAN installation manual: As you can see it suggests to use the included power cable to get power from the Aux 12v terminal. (Assuming Euro 46 App and V10 are the same thing in this case.) Below is an excerpt from the 'communications guide' that came with the Euro 46 V10: Now it's telling me not to hook up the power input... When I fitted one of the older 2016 Euro 46 App panels (before they came out with the V10), I used the power cable with the DIGI-LAN and it worked fine. Can I assume it is safe to use the power cable with the DIGI-LAN and Euro 46 V10? I'd rather be certain that chance it. The one downside of buying Pyronix is that I cannot ask them myself, but I am hoping one of you may know the answer..... Thanks in advance, Saaj
  5. In the end I had to put the bell trigger to common, NO to 0v and NC to 12v, since the bell box expects the trigger to be pulled up when in standby, and brought down to negative when triggered. Thanks again.
  6. That's a great idea, I'll do that. Thanks!
  7. I’ve had a look through the menu and the manual and can’t seem to find any reference to a Deterrent zone option. I think what I’ve got it set as for now will have to do! The zone is labelled up as smoke alarm and that is detailed on the notification sent to the app so it should be clear enough. Thanks
  8. Hello, I have a Euro 46 V10 panel installed with a DIGI-LAN which has been place for quite a while now. After having some building work done and having all the smoke alarms swapped out I decided to use Aico’s Relay Base to feed an input on the panel in order to notify the mobile app of a fire. I would like the Fire input to not activate the Siren or internal sounder (if you’re inside you can hear all the smokes go off anyway!), but from what I understand from the manual, the Siren will always go off. The minimum on time for it in timers is ‘1’ not ‘0’. In the meantime I’ve assigned the input as ‘Silent HU’ which does exactly what I want it to do, and only notifies the app. The downside is that the app says ‘Silent Hold Up’ instead of fire. This could cause confusion to my family etc. Is there any way for the Fire input to be setup so it doesn’t cause the siren to activate? Many Thanks, Saaj
  9. Hi there, I'm adding an SMS dialer thats triggered by applied negative to my euro mini panel. I've wired it to the panel and seems fine. There are two triggers, I'm using one for confirmed intruder and the other for mains fail. The intruder trigger works fine but the mains fail doesn't. If I generate the mains fail in the 'test output' section the relay triggers and I receive a text, I've also checked with a multimeter and the panel doesn't actually apply the negative. Reading the manual, in the 'output type' section , it says it'll generate a mains fail after a pre set timer. Only thing is, there is no where to find this timer! On the euro 46 it's in the timers menu but on the mini it's nowhere to be found! I also tried swapping my intruder and mains fail outputs between XPGM/1 and PGM but there was no change. Does anyone know how to change this timer? On the euro 46 it's usually 40 minutes and I'd rather it not be this long. Thanks, Saajan
  10. I tried calling the CHC but the panel just infinitely hangs on the screen. I picked up the phone to see it it was actually sending any data and it turns out the number it was trying to call was invalid! Anyone else happen to know this mysterious manufacturer access code?
  11. I like the look of the advent controls unit, not a bad price either. I would prefer to have some sort of detail, can you recommend any contact iD to SMS convertors? It's a shame pyronix crippled the panel's sms capability by locking down the gateway settings, although I've noticed on the v9/v10 panels you can actually change it without the need for the access code. Cheers
  12. Hmmm, I just had a look into these contact ID to SMS convertors, they seem quite elusive and the ones that I found specify the Ademco Contact ID format. Is it worth just going for some sort of gsm dialler with relay inputs?
  13. Hi everyone, I've had some experience with alarms, mostly Texecom and Pyronix, just done a couple wired installs here and there for mates. In my Garage I have an older Castle/Pyronix Euro One panel, it's running software V6.051 with a few EOL zones. It was monitored over PSTN a couple years back but since been disconnected (switched alarm company after old castle iD panel in the house went kaput). I want to setup SMS messaging over PSTN but I can't edit the setttings for the SMS TAP gateway. I only have the option of Vodafone, Orange, One2One and Cellnet(remember them!!). All of these TAP providers no longer run so the plan was to just put in the number for Open Telecom's 'OpenTAP' gateway. The alarm will let me choose the number for Fast, Contact ID or SIA but if I try and go into the 'SMS details' menu to change the gateway number it asks for 'manufacturer access' and prompts for a code. I tried the engineer code but it doesn't work. I don't think Pyronix will take kindly to some random DIYer asking for this 'manufacturer access' code, so I'm wondering if anyone else would happen to know? Alternatively I might get some sort of GSM based solution but not sure what to get, I think the CSL stuff is way out of my price range (the miniair is 260 quid which is more expensive than a brand new euro 46 panel and LAN card!). Anyone got any recommondations on some sort of basic bell trigger output SMS dialler? Thanks
