I must have missed that but, yes for god sakes using that as a dummy will only increase your chances of being burgled, as any burglar with half a brain will realise

that box would be part of a system that would have long stopped being used or working...

 sorry for pointing it out. :shy:

I'd put the red on + & use op1 on black programmed as something suitable?

But then again it's late & I've been drinking....

I agree use opt1 which is next to the spk connection and program it as bell in wintex in outputs, panel outputs, area, option 28.

Insurance companies are like banks, all good when you are giving them your cash, but under the skin they are all parasitic ********.

I couldn't have put it better myself, I have had 5 people drive into the back of a car/van I was driving and 1 when i was not in the van in 10 years, I am now classed as a higher risk and am being bent over for it, I cannot help it if 4 women 1 male drunk driver and 1 male cannot not drive.

Now after the last one I am fighting to get my loss of overtime as i have only been doing basic hours to give me chance for my neck to recover but seeing it's still playing up abit is going to take the full year the physio said it would,

  5. Do you ever feel your having to go though life holding their hands, They should update you, It's all their fault, :banghead:

But in the world of crime this is now seen as a good target, Oh boy are they going to get a shock when Mr policeman turns up 4 hours later

But repeat business for you so all good, :D

  6. Hi

I would read the all the installation instuctions page by page, Understand it before setting up on the bench,

The DIY systems Yale and Response are aimed at anyone who can screw a box to a wall, and very basic setup

The Texecom is well known with the pro's allows more options then the DIY kit, this is where programming the panel can be a mine field for some people depending how you understand the instuctions,

    I am guessing it's a elite 24 panel,

  7. The gsm dialler can be taken off to save some and can just be added when needed, Mr happy has done some leg work for you,

I would say to do a sketch of your house work out if you had no budget what you would do and then you can get the wiring in place for when you can afford to add more, saves having to keep disturbing the same area

    8 circuits in main control,

    2 circuits per keypad

    8 circuirts per expander,

A little bit more on topic than diesel engines,

Did a double take to see a shinney yale box on this -

This makes me cry, but its was the same when i was fitting car alarms in the late 90's we would be expected to fix cheap **** ( sparkrite) and they thought it would offer the same as our pro kits.

Just a thought next time you are under there just check the allen bolts that hold the injector down are tight,

Most the time when i see leaks on the main feed to the injectors it's very wet (Like Dripping wet )

I've enough work but under staffed to start with,

Mended the van yesterday.... engine light has been on months, after a week of looking I found my cheapo elm327 scanner lead & then looked the fault codes on the internet

P0093 - Fuel System Leak Detected - Large Leak

P1351 - IDM input circuit Malfunction/Ignition coil control circuit High voltage (Siemens system - Pre/Post heating relay circuit. Relay not controlled and glow plugs supplied).

Whipped the plastic engine cover off & had a look how hard replacing glow plugs or the relay would be, had wipe around the top end as there a small amount of oil present, guess the oil might be diesel from the bolt which secure an injector, checked 'em with a torx bit on a ratchet & no.1 is very loose &  no. 3 is quite loose.

Fire the old beast up, no faults present, press the reset button & volá engines light is off & remained for 100+ml of chasing around happyland today,

I'd bet the tame mong in my local garage would have charged lots & taken a long time to mend it, call me Dr Diesel ;)

Of course the garage would charge you, unless you have a maintence contract with them, Ha Ha

P0093 is for fuel system leak but if it comes back can also be for blocked fuel filter and may have code p0087 come up.

I would suspect if you had a leak at the injectors, for it to bring up the code it would have had to be more then damp,

I am guessing it is common rail set up, be carefull as system pressure is 300 bar ish at idle going up to 1200 bar at full.

Does the elm give you live readings, they can be so useful, I use the bosch kts570 even a tame mong can use it but takes a week of training to learn it.:D

I am quite new to Texecom, but I find Wintex quite good, I would hate to have to program a system by the RKP, But It am get better at it.

I am assuming you are talking about a Elite 24 running V3.01.

I am assuming you are connecting Z1 to Alarm and Z2 to Tamper, or are you using the AUX Fault for the Tamper?

Although, I would question if you have rewired the system, why you are not using the EOL wiring??? )(Unless you have more than 3 Contacts per circuit). The diagnosis is much more intuitive with this configuration.

Connect and open the Diagnosis, You can view the all the zone resistances in this window.

If you are still stuck, I would be happy to look at your config, just PM me.

Also Texecom Support is very good. (assuming you are an installer?)

I was thinking how is the tamper done as on the 24 it's so much more work not using end of line,

    I was hoping for a photo:D
