Doesn't anyone read manuals?
No. They are printed to keep the printers in work. They aren't for any useful purpose other than that
-
Firstly sorry, this I guess should be in trade but awaiting approval.
You only asked a minute ago

Also, does the whole building need to be protected or can you select areas/ rooms and leave out others?
Your risk assessment will answer that question

Hope the engineer has steel toe capped boots on for when the battery falls

That's bad, we must be lucky here. Guess its urban enough to have the fast stuff but not urban enough to be overloaded all the time...
Would you believe after my preaching yesterday had a 3 hour outage this afternoon
Dear Customer
We have just seen a large number of broadband circuits drop across the UK. It appears to be a power outage.
Engineers are working on restoring power and a resolution as fast as possible.
A further update will be provided at 4pm.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Kind Regards
Louis

I've never used an iron

Similar here. We pay $$$$$ for leased lines for that 100% SLA uptime but the reality is my vdsl link at home never goes down. I have MAS open that talks to the database server via a VPN and the timeout is 10 seconds so if that link goes down for more than 10 seconds it quits. Same with command centere. Shows how reliable things have become and how dependent we get on them.

What has light got to do with the needs of a dt?

And here's me thinking a diode helps protect against reverse polarity.
Don't be silly. That would be too simple.

Mike has done some work for me and working all August for me and I can vouch his work is bang on.

Not for my house it ain't! I don't want waking up in the middle of the night although I had to laugh, I did get a call at 4am to my video alarm as I'd locked the cat in the garage and I got up and let him out but at least I knew it was the cat and not cat burglar.
-
If it bothered you / end user that much you'd just put the panel on instant bells. Job done.
-
Arc see a moth?
Behave.
You would if it was sat on the motionviewer's camera
but you said the advantage of vf is customer wouldnt be disturbed on this domestic situation, just find it a bit odd that someone could have a break in and be upstairs asleep without knowing until the polis turn up which could take.....
The bell is controllable via the ARC and can be linked to an event such as person seen which would fire it off or you could have bell fire on activation. Completely up to you.
-
Advantage of MAS. You can have it exactly as you want No one glove fits all approach
-
No tampering just send the moths through the letterbox
So we would have seen a ton of moths, until someone broke in then we would see an intruder and police it.
how do you inform the customer,do you ring the bells remotely or ring the customer and say by the way theres a hooded moth downstairs
Depends on alarm co or end users wishes. Some don't have any bells at all. Not required under EN's
-
How's that sorted if we keep the video stream open all night? Also doesn't allow for an extra motionviewer to be triggered. It's a piss poor designed system if only 1 detector is available.
On the example you show, we would have seen the burglar doing the tampering and policed it
-
all night? it could potentially come thru every 2 mins,i take it that would need acknowledged by an op and thats him kept busy for the night till the sub gets up,
Yeah but not much of an issue. All our PC's have multiple monitors so I'd just keep it open and move it to my right hand monitor and keep an eye on it.
