  1. This could potentialy erode the legitamacy of our trade. Agreed, and is already doing so. Has has there been a lack of collaboration between trade bodies and inspectorates? From my position, it is insurers accepting it that is the big issue as that is the main reason people bought our products in the first place, because their insurance company told them to. If they no longer are insisting on our services as a condition of cover, why would the end user be keen to not save as much as they possibly can? Is there a risk that more companies will move to this unregulated, less costly approach? Guaranteed, otherwise they will go bust if all their work is taken by non regulated offerings such as ADT's Le Secure Are industry trade bodies approaching this issue robustly enough? From my discussions with them, they couldn't give a toss and don't really see it as a problem, which is a big problem. Has your business been affected by unregulated trade? Yes, hence why we started offering alternative solutions.
  2. Why? Not having a dig, just interested. The accommodations a bit pricey when I go down but apart from that, I love the place.
  3. Who are they? Presumably an IFSEC clone? That'll be interesting. Will exhibitors go to one, both or neither?
  4. I agree for driving, Birmingham much more suited. All London accommodation seems way over normal rates, and if there are a few of you for 4/5 nights I can see how that won't be a welcome addition. A hour on the tube wouldn't bother me, I love the tube and the dlr. I associate IFSEC and Birmingham together, not sure if it will feel like IFSEC in the big city. Agreed it will be the year aft it moves there when we see how many people visit that will indicate if it was such a good idea. Wonder what will be at the NEC in its place.
  5. You're so not funny. I'm a member of pay per post but much prefer tsi. Pay per post is a bit linked in like rather than a forum.
  6. That would be the forum you get paid to post on. How much you going to pay us for sticking on tsi?
  7. Not that your biased! Never been to excell so looking forward to going. I prefer it in London because of the other things london has to offer. Same. Use it to meet up with people. I'd be shocked to find something that educated me at IFSEC now.
  8. The Redcare stand used to be lovely, but I think BT's excitement in signalling has dwindled somewhat over the years. If you want me to go represent your product at ISC West, just yell!
  9. That surprises me. To my knowledge Redcare, Chiron and Emizon don't bother with it anymore. Just you and DualCom?
  10. I hadn't thought of it like that. There are a few manufacturers that have grown from their humble beginnings to supplying much further afield. It been nice to see Texecom grow from a back bedroom to you practically not been able to walk down a street without seeing a oddy bell box. I don't know how many veritas panels you've shifted over the years but equally very hard to not come across one now.
  11. I love the place. Looking forward to a ride on that new cable car across the water. From what I hear shouldn't be much of a wait as no one local uses it?
  12. Not MASive on it. When I was at Wimbledon recently I noticed that most of the staff in my hotel weren't very English.
  13. I love London. Since when did we discuss the merits of manufacturers and their products on tsi?
  14. I wasn't going to go but with it being the last, I think I will. I've always wondered how effective it was for manufacturers to go. Everyone I know uses it for a bit of a pow wow with industry friends rather than serious research for new products. I heard that it costs a fair few quid to exhibit there. It hasn't seemed the same for a while now. I used to get really excited about going but it seems same old same old.
  15. Not fancy a couple of days in the big city? I'd be more likely to go with it being in London. http://monitored-alarms.nsi-gold-approved.co.uk/index.html
  16. I love the idea and think any completion to shake up the guys holding the industry back is a good thing. Why wouldn't these super arcs also offer 1st line support to end users out of hours including via UDL.
