  1. I was only saying to one of my engineers just the other day, you boys think its easy for me sitting in a nice warm office, drinking tea made by fair maidens, you forget everytime you have a bad day I also have a bad day, the problem is theres several of you,and sometimes several of you have a bad day on the same day and that means I have a bad day several times the size of your bad day. Then theres the customers, they do their level best to get out of paying, "but the engineer said its the service guys fault" or " I pay £79.00 per year so call-outs should be free" Then theres the admin staff "I didnt send an invoice because the engineer didnt sign the paperwork" or " I thought I would order an extra one of those for stock because we didnt have any" never mind the fact that we have only used one of those in the last twenty years and its likely to be twenty years til we need another then. Yeah running your own company is a barrel of laughs most days. Still at least I have plenty of £50.00 notes to light my cigars with
  2. My advise would be start off as a subbie this way you will have work while you are doing your own thing, as a one man band you will never earn enough to pay your way otherwise
  3. LOL! I thought it was quite clear, but I was very drunk yesterday
  4. The problem is as soon as you re-power the system, or fit the new battery, it will start to sound and if you dont know the user code you have no way of stopping it. The Accord is fairly old and if I remember correctly the codes on their own cannot be defaulted . Theretofore the system will need to be defaulted completely and reprogrammed.
  5. Unless you know the user code I would not advise you touch any of it, as its designed not to be sabotaged. But if you diss the external sounder then down power the mains to the internal panel you will achieve any immediate problems. If you decide then you would like to get it up and running then I would suggest you call an installer
  6. Another thing to bear in mind if you have a power problem when your on holiday, the council will call one of us out to disarm the system and then send you a bill for their time and the alarm co. Funnily we are discussing this very subject in the trade forums. But because the poor home owners alarm was ringing internally they will get three bills one for the locksmith one for the alarm co and the third from the environmental dept. Stitch in time, save bigger bills
  7. But dont expect them to simply give out their engineers code as that will leave all their other customers vulnerable
  8. This is why battery manufacturers recomend they are replaced every 4 years. DIY are not going to go to the expense of buying an ACT gold meter and load test the battery every year.
  9. Check the battery fuse and the fuse holder theyre not that good. The battery should be replaced every four years depending on use, cheaper brands wont last as long
  10. Welcome to the forum, We have installed the Gardtec stuff for some time now, its at our budget end and compared to the competition it is budget. I really like the new app for the Lightsys but my engineers dont like the Lightsys they say its harder than it needs to be to program. The quality of the PCB is not as good as the older Risco product but if I was truthful nearly all panel manufacturers have cut back on quality components, its the ever increasing demand for cheaper products by the Ill fit it for a tenner brigade taking on the jobs I walk away from. I wonder what would happen if we all refused to work for nothing and fit the cheapest kit?
  11. Whats wrong with asking Danmini direct they have a live chat on their website http://www.danmini.com/en/cp_view.asp?id=453&dbid=d3

  13. 1070 here, I rate the Texe kit but we dont install it unless its a special request. The 1070 is very reliable mines been in for a couple of years with no problems, and we have been installing the 1070 for about three years now.
