  1. Is the sounder on with more than one screw or fixed with cable clips if so its a proper job or maybe no more nails and the local cable rules state staple guns and washing lines are also up to the standard of an approved installer
  2. hi Texecom looks for 2k2 across two cores end of line with 4k7 as a shunt across the alarm relay only as a single eol
  3. hi is it still set to grade 3! if so you only need grade 2 this is a great system but is not intended as a easy diy fit it is aimed at high security and a police response.
  4. hi if the panel is programed to bells and sounder on confirmed this is used on commercial or large domestic systems mainly on a police response system confirmed alarms need two detectors to activate in one area to generate an audible alarm an example is one detector in a shop by the front door and a 360 disc in the same area if one activates the alarm send an unconfirmed signal if both see movement then the bells ring and it sends a confirmed alarm if you have only one detector in a room and you want an audible alarm you need to change the option in wintex under system config to bell 1st alarm and sounder 1st alram hope this helps peter
  5. hi have used powerline adapter to network dvr back from out buildings and down from the loft on many jobs use tp link 300 or 500 mps models find they work 99.9 % of the time without a problem, if they lock up you need to reset the mains .the cheap ones off ebay rated at 100mps fail after a few months, also the one that you can still put a 13 amp plug in also cause problems i have found they all require a good earth and work well over 100m if on the same fuse board also used in offices with covert camera installs
  6. hi the problem is menvier used the node box for ever thing for many years from a six zone expander to radio node to x node or m node and if the panel box is full size they used that for years to
  7. hi if 12 volt dc as per picture old cctv psu or new led driver from tool station - screwfix
  8. The real point is that our gadget driven consumer must have life style,it is like the emperors new clothes if it is pushed and marketed hard enough the public swallow anything, these systems will never replace a installed system but how many surveys have you all been on when the customer says i want this and finishes with i have seen it cheaper on ebay or can you do it cheaper they do not have a clue of what is diy or pro level equipment the just believe the glossy ad or how to video and hope it will workout ok
  9. Alarming update Price reduction at mega deal at pc world by now and save also state compatible with yale and honeywell products some one must of read articul on digital spy website today
  10. Thats not the point i was trying to make, once the daily mail starts to think all wireless alarms might have a problem how will a customer be able to tell which equipment will work and is ok and above all installed to a ssib or nsi standards
  11. hi sorry to alarm you hyper venting into a paper bag This home security equipment is sold in the largest electrical / computer chain in he country and is on a price promotion as the ideal way for the public to cut out the cost of a professional installation and is plug and play but on a serious note all our pro wireless kit can be installed to grade 2 but as we all know some of it is one way only and cheap or fully encrypted and two way but is still only rated at grade 2 most of you have your own personal favorite manufacture of equipment and we all tend to think if it works why change but the way forward will be wireless whether we like it or not and it would benefit from a defined standard. the reason i pointed out the piece in the mail is this is the same way the remote keyless entry car theft problem started to be reported which is now a major problem and who reads the small print on the apps we install on our phones it is amazing how many get full access to sms messages as standard to your contacts emails and can send your location it is just like posting your bank pin or password on social media
  12. The whole electronics industry is looking for the next monthly subscriber cash cow, and rightly see's home security as a target the idea of a take home a quick fit plugin box and connected to the cloud in under 30 mins and charge for the tech support line as the future and every thing must have a app to download from the store so it must work ok because it is a brand name it only cost £?to make in china you can stand the control unit on the shelf next to you router so i hope the daily mail does have some effect
  13. Hi The attempt to panic the general public on wireless home security systems has reached the Daily Mail today 2nd May see article about a major multi nationals [SAMSUNG] attempt into US home security market found wanting over its use of an APP to control the systems basic operation , they even kindly post a how to on you tube of the university of Michigan carrying out the hack. The headlong rush towards the smart home all in one box and mobile apps needs to be regulated before our industry opens PANDORA'S BOX and we allow one way wireless and poorly encrypted data to escape from the diy market
  14. hi this is changed under arming modes in area programe section
  15. hi in user menu change code[ page 24 in user manual it is on line ] you need master user code set new user code 2 to 48 can be tags set user type and present tag instead of code hope this helps
  16. Hi try the operating gap on a g3 shutter contact the magnet has to lock into the contact it is only 20mm gap and has to align left to right the shutter has to close in the same spot every time, even the concealed door contact gap is only 4mm And who has a customer who locks all the doors with a contact on yet alone does not cover a detector behind a cereal box so it shows a mask fault or the forklift driver parks in front of the long range dt get used to more service phone calls .the worst is to push more than one panic button to get a confirmed pa signal grade 3 is great on paper but the real world takes more time to install and the equipment cost and availability on the shelf brings the need to carry far more kit remember if a detector or contact needs to be replaced on a service call even a simple junction box has to be grade 3 but once you get used to it everything fall into place
  17. Hi i wish the only difference between grade 2 and grade3 was only how the panel the programed and not the anti mask detectors and the contacts that will only work on a perfectly fitting door or the roller shutter contacts that have to align perfectly and when you have installed every thing and it works the insurance assessor said but the detectors and the panel look the same as normal and why have fitted redcare gsm i only wanted a redcare
