dpaengineer
Anybody know of the top of their head what size cable is required for a room thermostat on a combi? Sure somebody will have the answer, plenty of (ex-)sparks kicking about. fellas Trade Member

dpaengineer
I will check, but I dont think any go above CH systems go over 6A and thats only the old ones. It's a 3-wire connection and was going to use a bit of spare triple & E I had knocking about. Just making sure it was ok. Will check out current now though Trade Member
1019641
Better take a 3 core + Earth 6243Y cable, some stats require a neutral. Better safe than sorry Dean Wholey NCC Dean.Wholey@Ntlworld.com
dpaengineer
Well this manual is nice and big. Just thought, entire boiler is fed from 3A fuse as per the manual so in theory 1mm should be good. Anybody agree? Trade Member
1019641
No problems with that, 1mm is rated at approx 11 amps. just remember to install a 3/5 amp fuse - Quickly ducks. Dean Wholey NCC Dean.Wholey@Ntlworld.com

Paul Giles
Why not ditch it and use a radio stat, much better. more control PG Security Systems Somerset SSAIB Certificate of Merit Installers. www.pgsecurity.co.uk
dpaengineer
Why not ditch it and use a radio stat, much better. more control I want to regulate the central heating in my house not choose what time i listen to radio 1 Nah, I've already got the stat, and I put a 7 day digi timer on boiler last year. The 2 together will be effective enough. Plus boiler is only about 2.5 meters away from where stat is going (at the weekend). Just got to go along here, up there, across that bit back down through wall and bobs your uncle. thanks for suggesting though mate.
