January 30, 200620 yr comment_84947 yep been caught out on that one years ago.(young and daft)can't use two dimmers. You can fit a matching switch at the other end just buy yourself a on/off module it will look like a dimmer but its not that way it will intergate better haveing matching switches both upstairs and downstairs .and if it has a metal face plate dont forget to earth it ( most important) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/9133-dimmer-switch/#findComment-84947 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 January 31, 200620 yr comment_85074 You can get master/slave dimmers - but why bother? a dimmer at one location is fine - make sure it's a 2way dimmer (will be push on/push off type). Most dimmers will work on low voltage (wattage????), but the transformer will need to be a dimmable type if elecronic, and you will need to downrate the dimmers max watts accordingly. Commonly (no pun), the common terminal is marked with a squiggle (variable) rather than a C.
