Alarm goes off intermittently

Featured Replies

I have a Scantronic 9200 alarm. The alarm goes off intermittently. the last time when I was on holiday. I have replaced the control box backup battery. I have not replaced the Bell box battery, would this cause my problem?

Gerry

Have you been keeping a check on what has been setting it off?

Any recurrent patterns?

The alarm goes off every few weeks, a couple of times when in day mode and the last time when it was SET when I was on holiday.

it could be a tamper alarm possibly your external sounder.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

As ADI has said, it's looking like you have an intermittant tamper fault..Possibly on the bellbox, but could be any tampered detector.

If your panel is set for internal sounder on tamper activation but your external sounder is sounding then it will be your external sounder tamper.

Thank you both for your help, I will investigate along the lines you have suggested.
