borris
Just got home and the fella next door has collared me. He has a security light outside with a passive on it, and the bulbs have started blowing every 3 or 4 weeks. As I've never had anything to do with security lighting I was hoping someone could give us a few pointers. I've checked to make sure there's no leaky earths and the like, but I can't find anything wrong (apart from the bulbs blowing!!). Any clues received with many thanks from a kind old man, the guy next door not me!
Service Engineer
Cheap Bulbs dont last long, its always worth paying that litle bit extra, we only fit Phillips 500 Watt bulbs, there about £3.99 each but seem to last much longer, we maintain security lighting for many customers, we only fit the Phillips bulbs. And tell him not to touch the bulb glass while fitting them. Some have been in 5 years now. ........................................................
