RFI from nearby FM station

Ok time to get my bit in after a long break RFI !

First of all a decent screen on the coax for starters

Humbug will not fix this problem !!!!!!

Make sure that the camera body-housing-contenery wire-coax sheild & psu's are all earthed & a good clean earth @ that

A bad earth is the main problem for EMF & RFI interference

1 x camera or cable run could cause the problem through the system

Have you thought about using metal conduct or some sort of other shield to cover cable's if this is where the problem lies

Are there any antennas on the mast in line or @ the same height of the cameras or cable runs ?

If all fails get in touch with OFCOM as no radio site or tower should cause this sort of problem

Regards

Cctvman

If it is RFI from a radio station report them to http://www.ofcom.org.uk/about/csg/rlc/

There equipment should not interfere will other equipment.

It not necessarily the radio stations fault, it will also cost you money to get OFCOM out, you may also find that OFCOM will find the complainant at fault as they are not Licensed to receive the signals, depending on the frequency, a common issue with radio amateurs is that people complain that there transmissions are causing interference on TV

Bearing in mind this was originally posted in February 2005 let's hope he got it fixed by now :)
